Green Bay Property Update 3.5.14

In our last update on 2.10.14, we mentioned that there was a new offer on the GBSC on Finger Road. The GSNWGL  board has approved the offer. Two things have to happen still for the sale to proceed. The building inspection will take place  on March 6 and the  Green Bay Planning Commission  meets on March 10 to discuss the zoning reclassification. If all goes according to plan, the  zoning change approval  would be passed at the April 15, 2014 Green Bay City Council meeting.  This would mean GSNWGL would close on the sale and relocate sometime between April 16 and April 30.  We should have a clearer picture of the timeline after the Monday, March 10 planning commission meeting.

The new intended location for the Green Bay Girl Scout office  is 112 Adams Street in Green Bay’s vibrant and growing downtown.  A press conference was held this Monday announcing the donation of this building by Associated Bank to Neighborworks. Neighborworks will take over ownership and responsibility of the building, renting space to area non-profits, like the Girl Scouts and  financially advantageous rates. If all goes well with the sale in process, this will be the new home of Girl Scouts in Green Bay. Below is the press release from Associated Bank.

Associated donates central downtown building to benefit community

112 N. Adams Street property given to NeighborWorks Green Bay will be leased to not-for-profits

 GREEN BAY, Wis.   March 3, 2014 – Associated Banc-Corp extended its commitment to Downtown Green Bay today with the donation of its 20,000-square-foot building at 112 N. Adams Street to NeighborWorks Green Bay. NeighborWorks Green Bay, a not-for-profit community organization, will ensure that the property is dedicated to community development efforts and is expected to lease space at highly favorable rates to not-for-profit organizations performing important service in the community.

Associated Bank market president, Denis Hogan, explained that NeighborWorks was the perfect partner in this initiative because of the non-profits’ real estate development and property management expertise.

“There are two great outcomes from our collaboration with NeighborWorks Green Bay,” Hogan said.  “We’re boosting the vitality of downtown Green Bay, while also contributing to the operating efficiencies and missions of two outstanding organizations playing critical roles in Brown County. The first two tenants will be the Brown County United Way and the Girl Scouts of Northwestern Great Lakes.”

The 112 N. Adams building became available when, in the summer of 2013, Associated consolidated operations and moved into the newly renovated Associated Center  at 433 Main St.
