Fund Development Manager - Appleton, WI

The Fund Development Manager is a professional position with the responsibility for writing and reporting for United Way allocations and grants and donor moves management.

  • Duties and Responsibilities of the Job:
    • Conduct the full range of activities required to prepare, submit, and manage United Way and grant proposals and reports to government, foundation, and corporate sources
    • Conduct ongoing research and evaluation of new and current grant making prospects. Use online search engines
    • Work closely with designated staff to develop fundable proposals for projects and programs
    • Represent the council at foundation meetings in a professional and personable manner. Steward relationships with current grant makers and work with development team to provide them with regular points of contact
    • Support council functions through promotion of Council-sponsored activities
    • Promote the Girl Scout culture of philanthropy by cultivating and building relationships with donors, including regularly scheduled donor solicitation meetings
  • Experience/Qualifications:
    • Ability to take initiative, to organize and implement a multi-faceted work load with minimum supervision and function well as a member of a team
    • Able to communicate with donors and foundations in a professional manner
    • Understanding of budget development and general financial/administrative practices. Advanced knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets and database management
    • Ability to prioritize work, train and delegate to others
    • Valid driver's license, good driving record and reliable transportation
    • The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee must sit for long periods of time and is occasionally required to walk and operate office equipment manually
  • Education: Bachelor's degree. Two to three years of proven success with increasing grant dollars
  • Hours: Full-time exempt
  • Salary: $37,600/year

 

Support Services Administrative Assistant - Appleton, WI

  • Duties and Responsibilities of the Job:
    • Perform general office/clerical support duties, i.e. word processing, data entry, filing, copying, collating and mailing
    • Ensure materials are printed, processed and distributed in a timely manner. Provide reports as requested
    • Work on special Council projects as needed for specific departments
    • Assist with answering the Service Center’s main phone line and directing calls to regional team members and other Council staff
    • Support council functions through promotion of Council sponsored activities. Promote the Girl Scout culture of philanthropy by cultivating and building relationships with donors
  • Experience/Qualifications:
    • oExcellent time management skills; ability to take initiative to solve problems and work with a minimum of supervision and to function as a member of a team
    • Demonstrated proficiency with word processing, spreadsheets and database management including creating documents
    • Exercise independent judgment and discretion when handling potentially confidential or sensitive matters
    • Accurate, organized, and detail-oriented, with ability to work under pressure and shift priorities in response to changing needs
    • Valid driver’s license, good driving record and reliable transportation
    • The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is required to sit for long periods. The employee must be able to lift 40 pounds
  • Education: High school diploma required and relevant experience
  • Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours/week
  • Salary: $24,700/year
