How the Cookie Crumbles
In 2011, our Council’s Girl Scouts sold more than 1.83 million boxes of cookies! Each girl benefits from her new skills that help shape her future success, the troop proceeds that further her Girl Scout Leadership Experience, and the many services and resources provided by our Council.
A few ways Council cookie proceeds support programs, activities, properties, and volunteer services include...
- Providing recruitment materials for Service Area teams
- Increasing the accessibility of Council staff and volunteer training through technology
- Developing and maintaining program kits and equipment for troop use
- Maintaining beautiful camp properties and Service Centers
- Hands-on training for adult volunteers
- Underwriting numerous unique, Council-sponsored programs
The Girl Scout Cookie Program keeps Girl Scouting affordable and accessible for over 6,000 adult volunteers and over 18,000 girls in 58 counties in northern Wisconsin and Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, ensuring that every girl has access to quality leadership activities that build courage, confidence, and character!
