Recognition
Adults who participate, encourage and support the Girl Scout movement are the very foundation of our organization. Therefore, an attitude of appreciation and encouragement should be expressed in ways that recognize dedication and contributions to Girl Scouting.
Create an attitude of appreciation by:
- Being aware of the extra effort put forth by an individual, group, business or community organization
- Taking the time to mention a person's service or to thank them for a job well done
- Helping people to attain a higher level of achievement
- Recommending someone for special training or participation in a special event
- Nominating deserving individuals, groups and organizations for formal recognition
A variety of recognitions are available in Girl Scouting, from celebrating a volunteer's years of service and membership to recognizing truly outstanding efforts and achievements. Awards are given at the troop, Service Unit and Council level.
Take a few moments to nominate a deserving individual, group, business or community organization! Nominations and other Adult Recognition forms are due to GSNWGL's Adult Development Department by February 15 of each year.
