Training

Learning is vital for Girl Scouts of all ages! Your journey through Girl Scouting and service to girls begins with top-quality training. As a Girl Scouts of the Northwestern Great Lakes volunteer, you will receive specialized training to prepare you for your role, as well as continuing support and education throughout your time as a Girl Scout volunteer.

GSNWGL is committed to providing our volunteers with ongoing learning opportunities in a variety of topics. Volunteers should first attend any required courses, and then can select enrichment programs to meet their specific position or troop needs and interests. By taking advantage of these opportunities you will develop skills that will not only help you in your Girl Scout role, but throughout your life - tangible skills like time management, group management and event planning, and intangible skills like an increased sense of accomplishment, self-competence and personal growth.

Other Training Opportunities

To best meet the wishes of our busy volunteers, Adult Development needs in service areas will be met "on demand". The adult development department is working closely with Membership Managers to provide volunteer training as requested, at a time and location most convenient to our valued volunteers. If you are interested or in need of training for your role*, please contact your Membership Manager or the Volunteer Services Manager at your nearest Service Center to set something up. The adult development department will also respond to local group training needs. Decide in your service area what date and time will work best with your area meeting and event schedule, and contact your Volunteer Services Manager. Thank you, for all you do on behalf of girls!
