Pony Playce

Learn about ponies and enjoy a pony ride. The Pony Playce educators will also work with your troop to develop a program for girls to earn their Petals and Badges. We are all former teachers, and have experience creating plans to meet your learning goals. We are also an excellent choice for your yearend party or a special event to earn a fun badge. Reservations are required. Programs must be arranged in advance. Fees start at $12.00 a girl with a minimum of $48.00.

Colossal Fossils

L. H. Barkhausen Waterfowl Preserve

Barkhausen is a large nature preserve that hosts many different hands-on educational programs for Daisies through Ambassadors. Troop Opportunities change seasonally and include Snowshoeing, Maple Syrup, Tracks and Signs, Pond Studies, Orienteering, and much more. Programs can be used to satisfy a variety of outdoor and STEM badges, as well as teach parts of the It's Your Planet- Love It! Journeys. Navarino Nature Center

Navarino Nature Center is located on the 15,000 acre Navarino Wildlife Area WDNR. Programs include primitive camping, insects, wetlands, forests, prairies, mammals, birds, hiking, survival skills, canoeing, snowshoeing, and more!  Staff can alter programs to fit badge requirements with advanced notice. Sandstone cliffs, beaches, sand dunes, waterfalls, lakes, forest, and shoreline beckon you to visit Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore. Hiking, camping, sightseeing, and four season outdoor opportunities abound. The lakeshore hugs the Lake Superior shoreline for more than 40 miles. Lake Superior is the largest, deepest, coldest, and most pristine of all the Great Lakes.  This National Park also offers the Girl Scout Ranger program, troops can call ahead if they are interested in participating.

AE Seaman Mineral Museum of Michigan Tech

A geology museum on the Keweenaw peninsula, through Michigan Tech. Features a world wide mineral collection with the largest public exhibit of minerals from the Great Lakes region. They offer a program specifically for Girl Scouts, with a patch that troops can purchase.

Keweenae National Historical Park

From 7,000 years ago to the 1900s people mined Keweenaw copper. Native peoples made copper into tools and trade items. Investors and immigrants arrived in the 1800s in a great mineral rush, developing thriving industries and cosmopolitan communities. Though the mines have since closed, their mark is still visible on the land and people.  Explore the park or schedule a fieldtrip to the Calumet Visitor Center.  Keweenae is a great location to work on your Playing the Past badge!

Located in Wisconsin’s North Woods we offer trail rides on established and maintained County Forest trails. You will ride through Pine Forests, cross gurgling streams, and ascend scenic ridges. The guides and horses are experienced, ready and willing to handle the trails. All riders must be in fourth grade or older but no riding experience is needed. All riding is done on the trail – no arena lessons.
