Girls
Are you interested in learning a sport, sampling the arts, preparing for a career, or pitching a tent? Do you dream of publishing stories online, traveling to exotic locales, or speaking on behalf of girls in Washington, D.C.? In Girl Scouting, you can do it all! Girls in grades
K-12 can join as girl members. It's never too late to join in the fun!

Joining Girls Scouts is simple. Contact us at 888.747.6945 to find the troop or group nearest you. Click here for registration forms.

Many Ways to Be a Girl Scout
A girl can be a Girl Scout in many different ways. She can:

  • Join a Troop - A troop is a group of girls, usually close to the same grades and ages, that meet regularly and are led by volunteer leaders/advisors. Contact us to find a troop near you!
  • Register Individually - Individual Girl Scouts are called Juliettes. This is a good option if your schedule might not permit regular troop meetings, or if you're waiting for a troop to form in your community.
  • Come to Girl Scout Camp - GSNWGL is proud to offer girls excellent camp opportunities in eight locations in northern and central Wisconsin and Michigan's Upper Peninsula.
  • Additional Ways to Be a Girl Scout - Contact us to find out if there are special interest, outreach or other Girl Scout groups in your area.

What Do Girl Scouts Do?
Just about anything a girl would like to do! The Girl Scout experience is girl-driven, which means it reflects the ever-changing needs and interests of participating girls. Cookies and Camp are just two of the hundreds of programs and activities that help girls develop important life skills, and values such as leadership, confidence, and determination.

Uniforms
By wearing the Girl Scout uniform, Girl Scouts show their pride in belonging to the preeminent leadership development organization for girls. Click here to learn more about Girl Scout uniforms.

About the Girl Scout Program
The Girl Scout program is based on the needs and interests of girls. All members:

  • Share the Girl Scout Promise and Law
  • Pay national dues of $12
  • Follow safety guidelines

Girl Scout Promise and Law
The Girl Scout Promise and Law are shared by every member of Girl Scouting. The Girl Scout Promise is the way Girl Scouts agree to act every day toward one another and other people, and the Law outlines a way to act towards one another and the world.

*Financial assistance is available from GSNWGL for all or part of the annual national membership dues. Please contact us for more information.

The Girl Scout Promise

On my honor, I will try:
To serve God* and my country,
To help people at all times,
And to live by the Girl Scout Law.

* The word "God" can be interpreted in a number of ways, depending on one's spiritual beliefs. When reciting the Girl Scout Promise, it is okay to replace the word "God" with whatever word your spiritual beliefs dictate.

The Girl Scout Law

I will do my best to be
honest and fair,
friendly and helpful,
considerate and caring,
courageous and strong, and
responsible for what I say and do,
and to
respect myself and others,
respect authority,
use resources wisely,
make the world a better place, and
be a sister to every Girl Scout.
