Bronze Cross

Last week the Monday Mission Moment was about Ashley Magnuson of Neillsville, Wisconsin who was awarded with the Bronze Cross for saving the lives of her two little sisters. This week’s story also involves a Bronze Cross recipient! The Bronze Cross is a rare life-saving award given to girls who have performed heroic acts beyond the degree of maturity and training to be expected at their age. The Bronze Cross medal cannot be purchased, but rather is awarded after review by GSUSA.

Monday Mission Moment

Bronze Cross

Ashley Magnuson of Neillsville, Wisconsin was awarded with the Bronze Cross for saving her two little sisters’ lives.

Last year on a foggy morning, Ashley and her sisters were waiting for the school bus. As the bus stopped, a car coming from behind didn’t see the bus until the last moment and swerved to avoid rear-ending it. The car veered around by where the girls were standing and in a quick act of heroism, Ashley pushed her sisters onto the bus and dodged out of the way just before the car could hit any of them. Ashley’s sisters were not injured; Ashley had some cuts and bruises.

The Bronze Cross is a very special, unique, and rare award that is given to girls who have performed heroic acts beyond the degree of maturity and training to be expected at their age.

The Bronze Cross is a medal that cannot be purchased but rather is awarded after review by GSUSA.

The girls Last year Girl Scout Brownie Troop #2099 from Neenah, WI put forth a monumental effort on behalf of Hannah, a nine year-old girl who was struggling with brain cancer. The girls held a bake sale and then donated an incredible $2,500 to assist Hannah’s family with medical bills.
