GSNWGL Anniversary Plans
GSNWGL is preparing for our monumental 100th anniversary – AND WE NEED YOU! There will be tons of options to choose from, whether your interest is in our "Girl Scouts: Building Leaders" Habitat for Humanity council-wide service project, or in helping to plan a big expo-style Lambeau Field event with girl activities, an historic display, an alumnae and/or donor event – there's a role for you! For the Lambeau event, we'll need to think about things like promotion and registration process, merchandising, fund raising and program activities, entertainment and speakers, stadium tours, and other booths or sessions such as Forever Green and other hands-on, themed exhibits.

100th Anniversary Promise Circle
On March 12, 2012, Girl Scouts from all across the council are invited to join together in celebrating the actual day that marks the 100th anniversary of Girl Scouting! One hundred years ago, on March 12, 1912, Juliette Low held the first Girl Scout meeting in Savannah, Georgia. To commemorate that historic event, all Girl Scouts, girls and adults, are invited to say the Girl Scout Promise at the same time in a symbolic event called a Promise Circle.
When: March 12, 2012
Time: 19:12 military time (7:12 p.m.)
Who: Girl Scouts of all ages, current and former members. Participate as a troop, a Service Area, or as an individual.
Where: Ideas for locations include at local malls, library, town halls. Local parks, camp properties, regional Girl Scout Gathering Places, troop meeting place, Service Area meeting place, any safe, visible place.
At the appointed time, Girl Scouts everywhere will pause to say the Girl Scout Promise. For this special occasion, girls may gather as troops, as service units, with their family, with Girl Scout alumnae, or even as individuals. You might choose to say the Promise in a public forum such as a local park, town hall, mall, etc. Or you may choose to say the Promise at your local meeting place, community center, or home. Be sure to wear your Girl Scout pin, uniform, and Girl Scout T-shirts!
