Girl Scouts and Justine Magazine Partner for R.E.A.L. Girl Contest
Girl Scouts everywhere are encouraged to tell the world how they are Remarkable, Energetic, Aspirational Leaders by entering the Justine R.E.A.L. Girl contest! This R.E.A.L. Super Service Areas
For the 2008-2009 troop year, four Service Areas reached both their girl membership and Family Partnership goals. These Service Areas were recognized at October Service Area Service Area Meetings with Super Service Areas Awards. Dove's "Thank You for Making a Difference" Campaign
Dove is launching a new campaign to continue communicating the importance of building positive self-esteem in girls, and GSUSA and the uniquely ME! program is featured on their website! Also, Dove is running a special promotion this month in which anyone who buys Dove products can have $1 from their purchase donated to one of the three partner organizations. To participate, consumers who buy Dove products can go to www.dove.com, indicate the Dove product purchased via UPC code, and select the charity to receive the donation. All donations directed to GSUSA will go toward funding additional uniquely ME! programs at the council level. Consumers have until December 15, 2009 to donate to the charity of their choice. Help spread the word and ask everyone to designate Girl Scouts for their donations! |

We Did It! GSUSA Commemorative Coin Act Passes & Receives President's Signature
Thanks to the collective efforts of thousands of Girl Scout members, President Barack Obama signed today the GSUSA Commemorative Coin Act authorizing the minting of 350,000 silver dollar coins in honor of Girl Scouts and the achievements of the 50 million women across the nation whose lives have been influenced by Girl Scouting. Courageous Chloe is a brand new Girl Scout Daisy and is the ‘face’ of GSNWGL’s 2009 Family Partnership Campaign!
