
How The Cookie Crumbles
In 2009, GSNWGL sold more than 1.6 million boxes of cookies. Each girl benefits from the skill-building activities that help shape her future success, troop proceeds that further her Girl Scout Leadership Experience, along with the many services and resources for girls and volunteers provided by the council, including, hundreds of unique Council-sponsored program events, maintaining 10 beautiful camp properties and six Service Centers, and training for adult volunteers.
A few ways Council cookie proceeds support programs, activities, properties, and volunteer services include:
- Providing recruitment materials for Service Areas
- Increasing the accessibility of Council staff and volunteer training through technology
- Developing and maintaining program kits and equipment for troop use
- Maintaining 10 beautiful camp properties you can use and six Service Centers to serve you
- Hands-on training for adult volunteers
- Underwriting a myriad of unique Council-sponsored program events
The Cookie Sale Program keeps Girl Scouting affordable and accessible for over 6,000 adult volunteers and nearly 20,000 girls in 58 counties in northern Wisconsin and Michigan’s Upper Peninsula insuring that any girl, anywhere has access to quality leadership activities that build courage, confidence and character to make the world a better place.
