A Word About Safety

For safety reasons, GSNWGL does not publicly share directions to our properties. Volunteers, girls, parents, guardians, and other family members should contact the Property Department at propertyreservations@gsnwgl.org or call 888.747.6945 ext. 3349.

Training

When renting a GSNWGL facility, a troop leader does not necessarily need to have Outdoor Education Training. If the Girl Scout troop/group is only doing an overnight in a lodge or building, then they do not need the Outdoor Education Training course. If the troop/group plans on building an outdoor fire, cooking outdoors, etc., then they will need to provide verification of having completed Outdoor Education Training. The Adult Development Department may waive this training in instances where an individual can provide documentation of a comparable training from another organization. Contact them here for details.

Please understand that our training requirement is to ensure that a consistent message is being delivered to all volunteers and for the safety of the girls and the Council's properties.

Planning Your Trip

Planning a trip is a lot of fun, but be sure to follow all guidelines and be prepared. Because there are many considerations it may be helpful to check out these Property resources, which include GSNWGL's trip and camping procedures, property details (available facilities, fees, etc.) and tips for preparing for your trip.

Renting a Camp Property

Reservations are accepted first-come, first-served with the completed Property Facilities Reservation Form and security deposit (Rental availability and fees vary by property; see each property's web page for details). When this is received, you will be added to our calendars unless there is a conflict in which you will then be notified by phone. Once your reservation is on the calendar, an Items Needed letter will be sent to you for any remaining materials that need to be collected before approving your reservation.

Once all required items are received, you will then be approved and sent a confirmation packet. The confirmation packet will contain your confirmation letter, important information about the property reserved, and a cleaning checklist. If you require directions to the property, please let us know so that you have all the information that you need for your group to have a great time!

Available Equipment

There is a variety of equipment available for your use when renting a Council property. This equipment includes pudgie pie irons, long-handled roasting forks, and cooking kits that include a large variety of kitchen utensils, dutch ovens, and many other items. These items are provided with your rental; you do not need to complete another form.

However, you may also rent Council equipment to use when you travel to an outside facility. Download the Equipment Rental Form to see what's available and to reserve equipment. Completed forms can be submitted at any time with the rental fee. Please try to allow one week's notice so that equipment can be prepared and ready to pick up.
