CAMP SACAJAWEA |
Situated in a wooded area, Camp Sacajawea (CS) has a sports field, an athletic building, an art shack, a nature lodge, hiking trails, a shower house, a dining hall, a creek and a lake for fishing, explorations and canoeing. CS also includes three lodges, cabins, platform tents, and tent sites. In the winter, there are cross country skis and snowshoes available for your use!
Accommodations & Reservations
Girl Scout troops, Service Areas and other Girl Scout groups are welcome and encouraged to utilize all of the fantastic GSNWGL properties. Summer Programs
CS offers two-day (optional overnight) and one day adventures. 2010 Summer Camp sessions run June 21–July 23. Accommodations include platform tents, cabins, as well as most meals and snacks. Additional information will be provided upon registration.
End of Summer Bash! August 7, 10:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m., $10/participant
Celebrate Summer 2010 with us as we go kayaking and canoeing, try orienteering, play field games, go hiking, check out nature shack activities, and do awesome art projects! Participants should bring closed-toed shoes, water bottle, sunscreen, and bug spray. Trading post will be open and lunch will be provided! Program Aide Opportunities
Have you completed Program Aide training? Would you like to volunteer at camp? There are plenty of Program Aide opportunities available for you throughout the summer. Become a leader at camp by helping the counselors lead activities, teaching songs, working one on one with girls who need a little more assistance, and basically having fun! If you, or someone you know, is interested in volunteering at camp, call the Program department at 888.747.6945.

Art Extravaganza
Grades: 1-6

Get messy and let your imagination soar! Try art media such as pottery, beading, photography, painting and more. Become a legend as you take part in Counselor Picasso, making your counselor into a masterpiece. |
Badge Buster
Grades: 2-5
Dates: July 21

Love to earn badges and try new things? Come check out Badge Buster! If you are a Brownie you’ll earn the Dancercize, Write Away and Let’s Pretend Try-Its. Juniors will earn On my Way and Being my Best. There will also be time for your favorite camp activities! |
Camp Sampler
Grades: 1-6

Whether you’ve been to camp every year or never before, you’ll love Camp Sampler! Canoe and kayak on Lake Tapawingo, bring out your adventurous side for a nature hike and your creative side at the Funky Lil’ Art Shack. Eat s’mores, sing and perform skits around the campfire, meet tons of new friends and have lots of fun! |
Critter Crazy
Grades: 1-6
Dates: June 28–29

Come slither with snakes, hop with frogs, and waddle with ducks! Get critter crazy with a Creatures of Mystery show and a live frog presentation! Check out the creatures in our Nature Shack and see what kinds of critters you can catch in the pond! |
Extra! Extra!
Grades: 11–12
Dates: June 28–29, July 14–15
Cost: $65
Read all about it! Your group will create a camp newspaper, meet a reporter, try photography, conduct interviews, and draw a cartoon. Explore the science behind weather forecasting, create your own crossword puzzle, and become a real critic as you write reviews on the camp food. |
Fairy Enchantment
Grades: 1-6
Dates: July 14–15, July 19–20
Cost: $65
Enter the world of enchantment and excitement when you meet the Wood Nymphs, Water Faye, and fairies, all hidden under the branches in our enchanted forest. Watch them dance with fireflies while sitting around the campfire enjoying songs, skits and s’mores. Make fun projects like a fairy house and boat that will let you bring the camp magic home with you. |
Girls Just Wanna Have Fun!
Grades: 1-6
Dates: June 23–24, July 14–15

We are going on an adventure… “girl style.” Make jewelry, have a spa party and discover your inner beauty. Pamper yourself, then head into the woods for some nature activities. |
Go Green
Grades: 1-6
Dates: June 21–22, June 30–July 1
Cost: $65
This camp will show you how you impact the environment every day through fun, hands-on activities. We’ll take part in Leave No Trace activities, and even make our own paper. Create an edible water table and pollutants. Build your own windmill and become a human turbine. Take home tons of ideas on how to live greener and make the world a better place… together! |
Horsin’ Around at Bighorn Ranch

Financial assistance is available
Bighorn Ranch staff includes a certified horse trainer, licensed high school teacher, and great counselors. Sessions will include: learning horse safety, catching and leading a horse, grooming and tacking, mounting and riding activities, and trail rides. GS Juniors and Cadettes will complete some of the requirements to earn the Horse Fan and Horse Sense Badges.

Miss Fix-It
Grades: 1-6
Dates: June 30–July 1, July 12–13

Do you know why it’s called a “monkey wrench?” Become a handy girl by hands-on lessons in how to fix a leaky faucet, a running toilet, change a light bulb and lots more. Start a fix-it project that will make a difference in your community! |
Ooey Gooey
Grades: 1-6
Dates: July 12–13, July 21–22

Make a mad mess exploring the world of mad scientists! Create a variety of concoctions like Bubble ooze, a pocket rocket, pickle potion and more. You’ll also enjoy canoeing, kayaking, and art projects. Don’t forget the gooiest creation of all: s’mores! |
Under the Big Top
Grades: 1-6

Lions, tigers and bears, oh my! Learn how to juggle, balance like a tightrope walker, meet a clown and design different balloon creations. |
Water Fun Day

Splash around all day at a water park, slide down the water tower, or try the drop slide. Climb the water structures, slip down the water rides, and splash around in the pool before our pizza party lunch! |
Waterworks

Play it cool at camp, and get soaked! Enjoy boating, swimming and fishing. Make a splash with water-based science experiments and play a ton of water games! Check out our itty-bitty pond pets in a pond study and throw water balloons at the counselors! |
Where in the World?!
Grades: 1-6

Travel the world to visit different countries. Play games, dance, create ethnic art masterpieces, and try tasty cuisines. You’ll have tons of fun and meet lots of friends, amigos, freund, ami, ven, and friend. All aboard for the trip of a lifetime! |
