CAMP WINNECOMAC |
Just northeast of Appleton, Camp Winnecomac (CW) is located in Kaukauna, WI. The camp has two main lodges, tent cabins, yurts, and unit shelters. Surrounded by trails of the 1,000 Island Nature Preserve, there is plenty of hiking to do here! During the winter, some of these trails are maintained for cross country skiing.
Accommodations & Reservations
Girl Scout troops, Service Areas and other Girl Scout groups are welcome and encouraged to utilize all of the fantastic GSNWGL properties. See Section F of The Source for details and guidelines. Summer Programs
CW offers day camp sessions. 2010 Summer Camp sessions run from June 21–August 20 from 9:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m., Monday-Friday. Girls provide their own sack lunch most days and choose one day to cook out with their patrol. Fees include two daily snacks, all materials and supplies and bus transportation, with bus stops at select areas throughout our Council. See below for the 2010 CW Bus Stop Schedule. Additional information will be provided upon registration.
End of Summer Bash! August 14, 10:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m., $10/participant
Celebrate Summer 2010 with us as we go on scavenger hunts, play parachute and field games, go hiking, and do awesome nature and art projects, and try out the low ropes course! Participants should bring closed-toed shoes, water bottle, sunscreen, and bug spray. Trading post will be open and lunch will be provided! Program Aide Opportunities
Have you completed Program Aide training? Would you like to volunteer at camp? There are plenty of Program Aide opportunities available for you throughout the summer. Become a leader at camp by helping the counselors lead activities, teaching songs, working one on one with girls who need a little more assistance, and basically having fun! If you, or someone you know, is interested in volunteering at camp, call the Program department at 888.747.6945.

Adventurers

Take a trip that will challenge your adventurous side. Work as a team on the ropes course and plan a bike trip down the CE Trail with your friends! Put your outdoor skills to the test during an overnight trip to High Cliff State Park! |
Amazin’ Animals

Explore the strange and fascinating world of animals! Find out ways to take care of pets, and how you should treat animals in the wild. Visit the zoo to see animals in action. |
Art Express

Bring out the artist in you! Design a piece of jewelry, paint a masterpiece, make your own journal, and learn how to express yourself through art. |
Crazy Cookin’

Critter Care

Take your love of animals to the next level! Meet animals at the humane society and see what it takes to care for our furry friends. Explore different critter-lovin’ careers that you could have when you grow up! |
Day Sessions – WIN
Grades: K-7

Day sessions are provided so you can still fit in your time at camp. For example, if you have soccer practice, a family vacation or dance on Tuesday and Thursday, you can still register for camp on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Sign up for one day or a bunch! Have fun and participate in the fun that camp has to offer! |
Double Trouble
Grades: 4-7

Double your camp fun! Spend a couple days at Camp Winnecomac, then head to Camp Birch Trails on Wednesday to stay overnight until Friday! Hike, do arts n’ crafts, swim, and boat. |
Early Einsteins

Trail Riders

Spend a day at a horse stable to receive a riding lesson preparing you for trail rides at Camp Birch Trails. You will receive two trail rides at Blue Haven Stables while enjoying your two and a half day stay at CBT! (You must have attended Pony Express in order to participate in this program.) |
Water Seekers
Grades: 4-7

Have a blast splashing around in addition to other cool camp activities. While at camp, work together on the ropes course, try hitting the mark in archery, or play games in the play field. During the week take a trip to a pool, a lake, and a water park! Stay overnight at camp one night! |
