Ways to Donate
Thank you for considering a donation to Girl Scouts of the Northwestern Great Lakes! There are many ways to give, and each contribution is tax deductible to the fullest extent of the law and deeply appreciated.
Cash and/or Check Gifts
Contributions can be made by mailing a check (please don’t send cash) along with a completed contribution form or a letter outlining the purpose of the gift to:
Girl Scouts of the Northwestern Great Lakes, Inc.
Fund Development Department
4693 North Lynndale Drive
Appleton, WI 54913
Please make checks payable to Girl Scouts of the Northwestern Great Lakes, Inc. (GSNWGL)
When gifts are not able to be mailed to the Council office please give your cash or check, along with a completed contribution form or a letter outlining the purpose of the gift, to a member of the GSNWGL board of directors or staff to send to the Council on your behalf.
Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT)
The electronic fund transfer (EFT) gift option is now available! That means your personal, company or family gift can be paid directly from your bank account in monthly (or other designated) installments.
Many people find this a convenient way to achieve the level of giving that works best with their personal goals. This year it will cost GSNWGL $269 per girl to provide the skills needed to create a successful future. The Girl Scout Cookie Program defrays $183 of that cost, leaving $86 per girl to be raised through family and community support. By using the EFT option, an annual gift level of $86 is achieved by contributing just $7.16 each month! What a great way to give a personally significant gift and stay on track with your budget as well. Please consider using this option for your next gift.
Credit Card Gifts
We accept Visa and MasterCard. Please complete a contribution form indicating the amount of the gift, credit card number, expiration date, the 3-digit V-code and your name as it appears on the credit card.
Gifts of Stock
Gifts of appreciated securities can provide you with the opportunity to make a substantial gift to Girl Scouts, avoid capital gains taxes and use the gift as a charitable tax donation. Please notify the Fund Development Department at 715.355.9850 of your intent to make a gift of stock.Planned Giving
Planned Giving allows you to include GSNWGL in your estate and financial plans. Your planned gift today ensures that tomorrow’s girls can benefit from Girl Scouts. You will join a group of individuals whose love of Girl Scouting is like yours; whose interest in the long-term vitality of the Movement is strong; and who wish, as you do, that our girls will enjoy the fun, friendship and power of girls together for decades to come. Planned gifts can be made in a variety of ways, some of which include:
- Charitable Bequest from Wills
A bequest provides ongoing and future support to Girl Scouts. Many of us are not in a position to make the kinds of gifts we would like during our lifetime. But often, there is room, after family and friends, to remember Girl Scouting in our wills. - Gifts of Life Insurance
Make Girl Scouts the beneficiary of an existing policy or purchase a new policy that names GSNWGL as both owner and beneficiary. - Retirement Plan Benefits
Name GSNWGL as the primary or contingent beneficiary on retirement programs such as IRAs, 401(k) plans and other pension and profit sharing plans. Any funds remaining in these accounts at your death will benefit Girl Scouts. - Charitable Remainder Trusts (CRT)
These trusts allow you to give to GSNWGL and still receive income for life. You receive an immediate charitable contribution tax deduction and GSNWGL later receives the remaining assets of the trust.
