Hi, I’m back! How was your summer? I did so much fun stuff and I want to tell you all about it!
- Going to camp was the best thing I did this summer! We went swimming and made T-shirts and I met a lot of new friends!
- Well, I already told you about my favorite dessert - a Tagalongs Blizzard. But when I tried the Thin Mint Blizzard I changed my mind - they’re both my favorite!
- And my mom signed up to be my Daisy leader! She had to go to training and grown-up meetings and stuff to learn how to be a leader. She said it was fun and she met a lot of other nice leaders. I’m so excited and I think it will be a really fun year!
- We also went back to the Girl Scout store to buy some books. Mom bought a book to help her be a good leader for my troop. She also got me my very own Girl Scout Welcome to the Daisy Flower Garden Journey book. It’s really cool with lots of pictures and stories. I can’t wait til we start!
Ok, so what’s new? Oh, I just started Kindergarten! Mom and I went to an open house at my school and met my teacher. Her name is Mrs. Shanley and she’s really nice. She showed me where I sit and where I can keep my backpack. After we met my teacher we went to meet other people at the school. The Girl Scout lady was there and she talked to me about when the first meeting was going to be.
When mom told me that it was time to go to the meeting, I was so excited, I had my uniform on and my Daisy book, I was all ready to go. Mom said that this meeting was to talk to the other girls and their parents about joining Girl Scouts. It was pretty cool when we got there because I got to meet friends from my class and also some girls from the other Kindergarten class. My friends and I made bookmarks while the parents talked, and they talked for a long time. When the parents were done talking my mom asked us to help her make something called a Kaper Chart. This is the thing that tells everyone who gets to bring the treat to the meeting, and who gets to do things like lead the Girl Scout Promise and clean up after the meeting. There was something for every girl to do to help.
Last night my mom went to a grown-up Girl Scout meeting. I was sad that I couldn’t go with her :( But when she came home she was all excited and told me she had some great new ideas for my Girl Scout troop. I hope she found out how to play some new games because that is my favorite thing to do. Well, can’t wait til next time - TTYL!

Hi, it's Chloe.I am so excited that I finally got to join Girl Scouts! My mom and I went to the Girl Scout shop, and it was full of badges and fun stuff. We bought my uniform, it was blue. There were some other badges and numbers that my Mom bought to put on it. Now it looks really cool.
Mom talked to someone there who was really nice. Mom asked if she could be my leader. The lady gave my Mom some papers, but best of all she gave my Mom a coupon to go to the Dairy Queen. Yummy!
I helped put the patches on my uniform. One of the patches had a picture on it that looked like me. Mom said I got that patch because we gave money to help the council support my troop, and help other girls become Girl Scouts. That’s great because I’m having so much fun, and I want other girls to be able to have fun too.
Last weekend I got to go to day camp with my sister Bonnie. We swam and made a special t-shirt. Mine had purple and pink swirly colors. I was lucky and even got to paint a park bench for the city with some other girls.
On the way home from day camp, we stopped at Dairy Queen. Bonnie and I had a Tagalongs Blizzard and it was really good! When I asked my mom if we can come back again; she said “Honey, we will and next time it will be with your Girl Scout Troop to take a tour of the Dairy Queen.” I wonder if they will let me make my own Blizzard.
Like Bonnie says, TTYL (she told me that means ‘talk to you later’)!

June 2009
Hi, my name is Chloe! I went to join Girl Scouts at a party. It was scary at first because I didn’t know anyone. I saw one of my friends from school there and then I wasn’t scared anymore. We sat next to each other. We made a couple of friends at the party also.
We played CAMPO, it was a bingo game. There was a really nice big girl who helped me with the words in the game; she made the game more fun. There was a campfire that you could eat and it was really nummy. My favorite piece was the candy corn, it was supposed to be the flames of the fire. I can’t wait until I go to camp and get to have a real campfire. The big girl who was helping me told me about all the fun she has at camp, she said we get to go on a hike up to a big hill called Mt. Baldy at the camp she goes to.
We got to dance along with one of the Cheetah Girls on a DVD. I had a great time learning the dance steps. It was really fun! The music was cool; I could have danced all night. The best part was when we all danced together. Bonnie, my big sister, was there with me and she said I had great dance moves. I think Bonnie might actually like me a little bit.
My friend wants to join Girl Scouts also, but her mom said she had to see about it. My mom was talking to her mom about all the fun my sister Bonnie has. After they were done talking my mom told me that my friend will be able to join Girl Scouts. Then we danced a little more because we were so happy!
