GSNWGL Regional Delegate Elections

Currently we are accepting applications for regional delegates for 2020-2021 and 2020-2022 (as we begin the implementation of two-year terms with half of the delegates’ terms staggered each year).  Each region of our council has the right and responsibility to elect a predetermined number of delegates based on girl membership in their region. This group meets three or four times a year, and is responsible for both bringing concerns of our membership to our council board and bringing news from our council board to our membership (primarily through Service Area meetings). Delegates elect our Council Board of Directors and Board Development Committee Members at our Annual Meeting.

Based on the change voted on at the 2018 Annual Meeting, delegates will now have 2-year terms. In order for the terms to be staggered, we will implement this change by electing half of the delegates this year for two-year terms and half for one-year terms. Delegate terms begin at our Annual Meeting (April 18, 2020) and are completed upon closure of the next Annual Meeting (2021 if elected for a one-year term, 2022 if elected for a two-year term).

Council Delegates need to be able and willing to:

  1. Attend the GSNWGL Annual Meeting (as a voting member in 2021; encouraged to attend in 2020).
  2. Receive periodic communication from our GSNWGL board of directors and then share the information at local Service Area Meetings.
  3. Attend board/delegate meetings in September, November, March and April.

2020-2021 and 2020-2022 Delegates will be elected at the Regional Delegate meeting on Monday, March 16, 2020. Any current Girl Scout member 16 years of age and older may serve as a delegate. Current delegates may be re-elected.  If you are interested in serving for another term, or know another volunteer who would like to be a delegate, please complete the online form at Regional Delegate Nomination form by midnight, Thursday, March 5th.
