Learn to facilitate an Outdoor Education training for your service areas volunteers with fun, hands-on outdoor skills they can teach to girls. Facilitation skill review and practice teaching is part of the day. An Outdoor Champion is a flexible service area volunteer role to impact the quality and quantity of outdoor experiences for your local Girl Scouts. Basic outdoor skills include site set up, campfire safety, outdoor cooking and dishwashing, basic knots, and basic knife safety. Please bring a water bottle, paper and pencil/pen, Swiss Army-style pocketknife, bandana, and a mess kit with a dunk bag (purchase one or make your own). Training will be held rain, shine, snow, heat or cold, so please prepare accordingly! Dressing in layers is recommended. Well provide the food and supplies for campfire cooking.
