FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Girl Scouts of the Northwestern Great Lakes (GSNWGL) is honored to have been awarded a Women’s Fund Community Grant of $4,000 from the following Funds of the Community Foundation: Barbara and James Hansen Fund, Dianne Trenchard Fund, Lutsey Family Foundation, Marion Peterson Memorial Fund, Marti (Spittell) and Gary Ziegelbauer Fund, Nancy A. Felhofer Memorial Fund, Sally & Michael OʹBrien Family Fund, and the Womenʹs Fund Endowment of Door County.
This generous funding will help ensure that all Girl Scouts in Door County, regardless of their background or financial circumstances, have access to the transformative Girl Scout programs that build confidence, leadership skills, and foster a lifelong commitment to community.
This investment directly supports our efforts to remove barriers to participation by providing financial assistance for membership, camp, uniforms, programs, and other expenses for families who may not otherwise be able to fully participate in the Girl Scout experience. With costs rising and needs growing, the grant will help keep our programs accessible and inclusive, especially for girls who may benefit most from safe spaces, caring mentors, new friendships, and the hands‐on experiences Girl Scouting provides.
“We are so fortunate to have the support of the Door County Community Foundation and their commitment to building equity and empowering Girl Scouts throughout Door County,” said Missy Brozek, Chief Advancement Officer for Girl Scouts of the Northwestern Great Lakes. “This funding is a powerful step in helping every girl in Door County have the opportunity to discover their potential through Girl Scouts.”
The Girl Scouts program is open to girls of all ages, and Girl Scouts encourages anyone interested in learning more about the program to visit gsnwgl.org. Girl Scouts is committed to providing a safe and supportive environment for all girls and welcomes volunteers interested in supporting this important work.

We Are Girl Scouts
Girl Scouts bring their dreams to life and work together to build a better world. Through programs from coast to coast, Girl Scouts of all backgrounds and abilities can be unapologetically themselves as they discover their strengths and rise to meet new challenges—whether they want to climb to the top of a tree or the top of their class, lace up their boots for a hike or advocate for climate justice, or make their first best friends. Backed by trusted adult volunteers, mentors, and millions of alums, Girl Scouts lead the way as they find their voices and make changes that affect the issues most important to them.
