What is the Pearl Challenge?
The Pearl Challenge was a new initiative started in 2022 for Junior, Cadette, Senior, and Ambassador Girl Scouts to follow Juliette Gordon Low's charitable footsteps.
Girl Scouts who accept the challenge can learn from Girl Scout alum and staff through webinars and exclusive communications. Learn what it means to be a philanthropist, why it's important to be charitable in our communities, and creative ways to raise $115 to support their sister Girl Scouts.
Sign up by Juliette Gordon Low's Birthday, October 31, 2024, to participate!
Funds raised will provide financial assistance to our economically less fortunate sisters. Whether Girl Scouts complete the Pearl Challenge individually or collaborate with their troop is up to them! However, if one Girl Scout bravely completes the challenge by January 10, 2025, on their own, they will represent the troop, and all troop members will receive the exclusive Pearl Challenge patch.
Girl Scout alum and supporters are encouraged to become Pacesetters for the Pearl Challenge. Our Pacesetters are leading the way and inspiring Girl Scouts as they fundraise to make troops equitable, expanding opportunities for all girls to build the courage, confidence, and character they need to become successful adults.

Ideas for you!
- Collect old trinkets, clothing, art, books, and more to host a thrift shop for friends and family!
- Host a holiday-themed event or birthday party for JGL and have an admission fee.
- Make and sell pearl-themed items (bracelets, cupcakes, art).
Please don't:
- Directly solicit by asking family and friends for money.
- Knock on doors for donations.
- Depend on your troop leader, parent, or others, to ask on your behalf (social media, work, etc.). You can create the activity with your troop to engage and inspire people to give!
- Miss out on being a pearl!
