North Central Wisconsin and Michigan's Upper Peninsula—May 7, 2025—The Girl Scout Cookie Program across Girl Scouts of the Northwestern Great Lakes (GSNWGL) has been extended through May 18, 2025. This gives customers and community partners more time to support local Girl Scouts in reaching their goals and funding their next big adventure.
Despite a strong showing of booths and participation this year, overall cookie sales fell short due to unpredictable weather, economic uncertainty, necessary pricing adjustments, and other challenging factors. Extending the season allows troops to continue earning proceeds that directly support their programs, travel, and service projects, while providing the community with more opportunities to stock up on their favorite treats.
Here’s how you can support local Girl Scouts through May 18:
“We’re proud of the effort our Girl Scouts put in this season,” said Christin Stapelmann, Director of Product Program at GSNWGL. “Participation remained high, and more girls than ever ran cookie booths across our communities. This extension gives them another opportunity to learn perseverance, teamwork, and problem-solving skills—skills that last a lifetime.”
Troops will continue selling throughout the extension period. Though individual rewards have ended, increased troop proceeds will help girls directly fund their Girl Scout experiences—from troop activities, Girl Scout programs, and summer camps to traveling within the US and abroad.
Businesses and community partners are also encouraged to get involved:
This season, every box counts more than ever. Whether you’re a cookie lover, a local business, or someone who simply believes in the power of girls, your support makes a difference.

We Are Girl Scouts
Girl Scouts bring their dreams to life and work together to build a better world. Through programs from coast to coast, Girl Scouts of all backgrounds and abilities can be unapologetically themselves as they discover their strengths and rise to meet new challenges—whether they want to climb to the top of a tree or the top of their class, lace up their boots for a hike or advocate for climate justice, or make their first best friends. Backed by trusted adult volunteers, mentors, and millions of alums, Girl Scouts lead the way as they find their voices and make changes that affect the issues most important to them.
